State Educational Technology Directors Association (SETDA) Elects Leadership

June 29, 2009 (Washington, DC) – The State Educational Technology Directors Association (SETDA) today announced it elected Board of Directors and Officers for 2009.

“We would like to welcome the newest addition to the Board, Bruce Umpstead from Michigan,” said Wayne Hartschuh, SETDA’s Chairman of the Board.  “Umpstead’s blend of business experience coupled with his leadership in education technology and effective use of data to improve schools will be a valuable perspective.”

“We would also like to congratulate Geoff Fletcher, formerly with the Texas Education Agency and currently the Editorial Director for T.H.E. Journal and Campus Technology on his re-election as SETDA’s Emeritus Board Member,” continued Hartschuh. “Fletcher’s varied experience offers a broad knowledge of issues relating to education technology. His contribution has been invaluable in moving SETDA forward and providing a national perspective on these issues. We look forward to working with him in his second term.”

“SETDA is fortunate to have such a cohesive membership and strong group of leaders to set the direction of the organization,” stated Dr. Mary Ann Wolf, Executive Director of SETDA. “We look forward to working with the Board to provide SETDA members with support and leadership on how technology can be leveraged throughout ARRA and specifically managing the Enhancing Education Through Technology (EETT) grant programs.”
