SIIA Employs EDRoom To Gather Feedback from Innovation Incubator Participants
NEW YORK, NY (June 26, 2009) - The Software & Information Industry Association (SIIA), a trade association serving the software and digital content industry, took advantage of the EDRoom online discussion service to gather feedback from companies that recently participated in SIIA's annual Innovation Incubator Program (IIP). The Innovation Incubator Program was held at the SIIA 2009 Ed Tech Industry Summit in San Francisco in May.
EDRoom's online asynchronous discussion space enabled the Innovators (participants from the education technology development community) to share their experiences, contribute new ideas and make suggestions for continued improvements to SIIA's Program.
EDRoom's market research experts collaborated with the SIIA's Innovation Working Group to create a detailed discussion guide focusing on the various features of the program, including the virtual and face-to-face aspects.
The online discussion with the IIP participants took place over 10 days and was facilitated by an expert moderator. Members of the Innovation Working Group observed the discussion sessions behind a "virtual one-way mirror," and were able to communicate privately with the moderator throughout the discussion.
SIIA Innovation Working Group co-chairs, Carmi Paris, Vice President Corporate Development, Spectrum K12 School Solutions, and Steve Siegel, VP, eContent Markets, Follett Digital Resources, organized the EDRoom panel. "EDRoom's unique and convenient delivery system was invaluable for capturing essential dialogue and feedback needed to broaden and improve SIIA's Innovation Incubator program," said Paris.
At the conclusion of the EDRoom session, Paris and Siegel received a complete transcript of the discussion, making it easy for them to study the panelists' interactions, opinions and recommendations.
According to Siegel, "One of the goals of our SIIA Innovation Working Group is to connect the stakeholders in the educational community with an eye toward introducing new innovations to the community. The Innovation Incubator Program has been a cornerstone of the Innovation Working Group and the use of EdRoom helped our team gather rich insights from our incubators that will help improve the Incubator Program."
