Tegrity Reports Record Growth and Student, Faculty Usage During 2008

New Features, Industry Awards, Partnerships and Certifications Underscore Tegrity’s Market-Leading Position

SANTA CLARA, Calif.--(via BUSINESS WIRE)--Tegrity, provider of the leading class capture Web service for higher education, today announced another year of record growth in sales and service usage during the fiscal year 2008. The company reported 33 percent growth year-over-year and the addition of scores of four-year institutions, community colleges and graduate institutions, including medical, law and business schools, to the Tegrity client roster, most of which are using Tegrity campus-wide.

Despite the economic downturn, Tegrity has seen more institutions embrace class capture technology as a means by which to improve student retention, student satisfaction and student recruitment through greater student academic achievement. During 2008, Tegrity Campus usage doubled, with five million student views and more than two million student study hours spent accessing Tegrity.

“At Coppin State University, we’re constantly seeking ways to improve the learning experience through innovative technologies, and Tegrity has proven an invaluable tool for our students by providing Learning on Demand, and to our faculty by providing a platform for pedagogical innovation,” said Dr. Ahmed El-Haggan, Ph.D., vice president for Information Technology and chief information officer for Coppin State University.

Tegrity Campus 2.0 enables students to access and search class lectures anywhere, anytime they choose, including from a laptop, iPod, MP3 player, or smartphone. The Web service, which allows schools to easily scale for increased student use, continues to positively impact student performance, retention and course satisfaction.

“As a company, we’ve experienced two watershed years of record-setting customer recruitment and retention, Tegrity Campus 2.0 sales and soaring campus-wide usage,” said Isaac Segal, president and CEO of Tegrity. “The positive impact we’re having on student achievement has also been the impetus for industry accolades and partnerships with other industry leaders, further testament to our innovation. While we celebrate company growth and product success, we remain dedicated to the mission of helping institutions achieve increased student achievement, satisfaction and retention.”
